Darlene L. Kittredge, C.P.A.

Areas of Specialty: Financial Statements, Business Administration, & Tax

Darlene is a graduate of Valparaiso University. After working for several years for a mid-sized regional accounting firm, she started her firm in 1982. She is a member of the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants and the Indiana CPA Society. Darlene has experience in all phases of accounting and tax services. She especially enjoys working with start-ups and small to midsize businesses. She also has extensive experience in personal, business, and fiduciary tax preparation and advisory services. She is a member of the Chesterton/Duneland Chamber of Commerce and has served as a board member, treasurer, vice-president and president. Darlene currently, and in the past, has served on numerous boards and committees of civic and charitable organizations as well as the Indiana CPA Society.

Kari is now the owner of Kittredge & Zehner, P.C. as of January 1, 2022. Fortunately, she still has the privilege of working with her mother, Darlene Kittredge, C.P.A., the founder of the firm and continues to draw from her knowledge and experience. She enjoys working with the business to help them develop into a well-run and financially healthy endeavor. Kari has been the treasurer of Neighborlink Porter County since 2008 and has recently joined the Chesterton Branding and Leadership team. Kari is a graduate of Augustana College and continued her accounting courses at Purdue. Kari received her CPA license in 2009.

Kris has been a valued member of our firm since 1989, having decades of experience in accounting and a strong tax preparation background, focusing on both individuals and small business. Kris attended Purdue University North Central with a focus on accounting and is also the firm’s information technology and networking specialist. Over the years, Kris has built strong relationships with clients, valuing the friendships that have grown from professional collaborations. Whether handling payroll, compliance, or IT challenges, Kris’s dedication and expertise continue to be indispensable to our team.

Vickie Morales

Areas of Specialty: Accounting, Payroll and Tax Preparation

Vickie has been with the Firm since 2006. “Accounting has such an array of career opportunities, and I really enjoy multitasking and keeping busy.”

Vickie recently completed her Bachelors of Applied Science in Accounting degree at Indiana Wesleyan University. She has taken the lead role in our firm’s payroll accounting service.

Shelina Samanas

Areas of Specialty: Business Accounting, Payroll and Tax Preparation

Shelina has worked in the field of business accounting for the past 12 years before joining the firm in May, 2018. She is a graduate of Purdue University North Central with a Bachelor’s of Accounting degree. She is proficient in all aspects of business accounting including QuickBooks setup and client assistance. Shelina has also proven to be an excellent addition to our payroll service. She aspires to complete her Master’s in Business Administration and obtain her license as a Certified Public Accountant.

Julie English, C.P.A.

Areas of Specialty: Individual and Business Accounting and Taxation

Julie graduated from Purdue University Calumet with a Bachelor of Science degree in Management and received her CPA license in 1998. She has over 30 years of experience in accounting, payroll, and both business and individual taxes. Julie joined Kittredge & Zehner, P.C. drawn by company philosophy and atmosphere and looks forward to supporting her team members in meeting clients’ needs.

Vanessa Zimmer

Vanessa grew up in Jackson Township and graduated from Purdue University with a bachelor’s degree in Elementary Education. After graduating, she enjoyed working with Early Childhood programs to implement and develop Kindergarten Readiness curriculums. Vanessa began her journey at K&Z in February 2021 and looks forward to getting to know clients and learning new things in her role as administrative manager.

Sarah Powers joined our firm in 2021, transitioning from a valued client to a dedicated team member. Corinne Miller has been with our firm for two years, initially in a part-time capacity and recently transitioning to full-time. She is currently pursuing an accounting degree focused on public accountancy at Purdue Global, with aspirations of obtaining her CPA license. Corinne’s journey began at Wheeler High School, followed by five years at Starbucks, where she developed a deep appreciation for building relationships within the community. This passion for community engagement inspired her to pursue a career in accounting, where she aims to make a significant impact. Corinne is dedicated to using her skills to benefit our close-knit community through her work in public accounting.
